Things to look for before making an online purchase Making online purchases is becoming more normal as each day goes by. The challenge many of us face is seeing something we like and leaping right away to make the purchase without investigating who it is we're making a purchase from. Here are some things I look for before making a purchase. 1. Is the website secure (ie; https://...) 2. Does the website have SSL Certificate(ie; VeriSign Secured) 3. Does the website list a physical address 4. Does the website list a phone number 5. Does the website list a contact person 6. Does the website list an email address 7. Does the website show up in Google Theses are just a few things I look for. Before I do business online I want to make as sure as possible I'm working with a legitimate company. Even verifying all the things I listed above doesn't guarantee that the transaction will be a successful one. But it does give me a way to track the companies last known whereabouts. Plus I have a nationwide group of lawyers on retainer who help me with challenges like this.
